Anambra Update: Low Turn Out as PDP Candidate, Ozigbo Calls for Voting Time Extension

By our reporter

Reports reaching us indicates that the Anambra governorship election began early enough on Saturday, but with low turn out in areas witnessed by our reporter, as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Valentine Ozigbo calls on the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) for voting time extension.

According to the report, election materials were distributed as early as 6:30am.
At Akwa Ward 6, unit 024, 025, 010, Akwa South Local Government, very few voters came out to register and vote simultaneously in the early hour of Saturday.

Meanwhile, the PDP Governorship candidate, Valentine Ozigbo, while casts his votes in Amesi Unit, in Agwuata Local Government Area at 11am, calls for voting time extension.

Recalls that INEC had earlier announced 2pm to end votes in the ongoing Anambra polls. But Ozigbo however complained that the card reader was very slow, thereby capable of not capturing the whole voters within the time frame.

He called on voters to come out enmass to cast their votes, he assured them that their security is guaranteed.

So far, the election has been peaceful according to our correspondent.
