“I Didn’t Bring Coronavirus To Togo” – Emmanuel Adebayor Slams Donations

The Togolese football international, Emmanuel Adebayor berated clarion calls on him to by fans to support his home country’s campaign against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, says he was not going to give anything to help in the fight against coronavirus irrespective of what anybody says.

In a Facebook Live, Emmanuel Adebayor announced that he would not participate in the fight against Covid-19. While the football stars are mobilizing with material and financial donations, the former Arsenal player does not feel concerned:

“As if I were the one who brought the coronavirus to Togo”

“I always do things according to the wishes of my heart and not according to the words of others. I’m sorry that people compare me to Samuel Eto’o and Didier Drogba by asking me why I don’t have a foundation or why I don’t donate, as if I was the one who brought the coronavirus to Togo… , I am neither the one nor the other, I am me Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor. A little bit of advice for you guys regarding donations, I won’t do that. Everything is clear and very simple. Thank you and good day.”
