Ooni’s Comment Over Tinubu’s Muslim/Muslim Ticket

Published by RegentAfrica Times

Prominent Nigerians in the country have been giving their opinion, over the controversies surrounding the choice of APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who went for an all-Muslim-Muslim candidate.
and the Oni Of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, spoke his mind with the ladies of TVC YOUR VIEW on Tuesday morning on the phone ahead of the Osun election on Saturday.

When asked by Morayo Afolabi Brown that with so many options, Tinubu who is a Muslim from the South West picked another Muslim and many people across the country are expressing their reservations as other candidates have been made also to understand the polarisation that’s been experienced in Nigeria and the Oba’s view, did Tinubu made the right decision or should not matter?.

In reply, the Oni of Ife said it’s a different ball game as in Nigeria, one needs to be sensitive about religion as it’s a very important thing, but Nigerians’ problem is bigger than religion and if they need to separate how to resolve the problem first, religion should be looked beyond. The Oni of Ife went on to say it’s something to be sensitive about, but the problem in the country is big and one should just pray for the country to be okay, as it’s important amid the crisis everywhere and survival should be talked about before religion.

The Oba, therefore, appealed to the political gladiators to be sensitive about religion, not to put it aside, but first, solve the problem of Nigerians collectively.
