PLANE CRASH: Buhari Honours Late Military Personnel, Orders National Flag to Fly at Half Mast

The President and Commander in-Chief of Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, still mourning his military personnel has authorized all government agencies and other government functionary in the country that the National Flag should be flown at half- mast in all public buildings, facilities and official residences with effect from Monday 24th to Wednesday 26th May, 2021.

As obtained, a press statement signed by the Secretary To the Government Of the Federation, Boss Mustapha noted that the directive was to honour the memory and services of the Late Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru, ten senior military and service members who lost their lives in the plane crash on Friday 21 st May, 2021.

The President has similarly approved a work free day for members of the Armed Forces on Monday 24th May, 2021

Recalls that President had earlier given directives to the Defense headquarters and the Ministry of Defence to do everything possible to provide comfort for the families of the deceased to ease the current hardship the families might be going through. He prayed to Almighty God to repose their souls and grant their families the fortitude to bear the losses.
