PM4BN Endorses Peter Obi for Presidency 2023 on Merit

It was another endorsement too many as a pro-democracy group, Progressive Movement for Better Nigeria, (PM4BN) over the weekend declared support for the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, for the coming 2023 Presidential election.

According to a statement made available to this medium on Monday, Mr Peter Gregory Obi of the Labour Party swept the polls to get the endorsement and backing of the pro-democracy group in Abuja.

The program was the National Summit organized by the Progressive Movement for Better Nigeria at the prestigious Nippon Ground Hotel, Opposite Next Cash and Carry, Kado, Abuja.
It was a gathering of the National Executive of PM4BN, led by Stella Njideka Ezeh, popularly refers Lady Decency and all the 36 States Coordinators of the movement.

The good governance advocacy and the pro-democracy group had earlier selected three top presidential candidates for voting to decide on the candidate the movement would support.

According to the pan- Nigeria group, the selection was a pedestal on its core values and what it believes a Nigerian leader must possess, this includes: “A Nigeria Enthusiast and a Vision Bearer, A Technocracy, Tested Executive, Detribalize Person, Accomplish Professional, Healthy and Sound Minded Person, Warrior in the heart that can protect the Country’s Integrity, Champion of Transparency, Accountability, Humility and Teamwork in Leadership and Epitome of Integrity, Patriotism, Selflessness and Valor, among others.

In a landslide victory ahead of others, Peter Obi polled 72.2% to defeat Waziri Atiku Abubakar, who polled 22.2% leaving the rest of 5.6% for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the rear.

Progressive Movement for Better Nigeria with members across all states of the federation, local government and wards offices said it would support and campaign vigorously for Mr Peter Obi, who they believe would deliver and take Nigeria to greater heights, according to the group.

The National Coordinator of the group, Stella Njideka Ezeh (Lady Decency), commended the transparent process of the election that led to the emergence of Obi; she noted that the coast is now clear to all members of the group to comb the length and breadth, nooks and crannies of the country to sell the candidacy of Obi for Better Nigeria.

Mr Romance Abua Ikwen, the Cross River State Coordinator moved the motion for the passage of the vote of confidence and was seconded by Mr Chukwudi Joshua Prince, the Edo State Coordinator.

The motion was unanimously adopted. Highlights of the summit were the presentation of the seminar and investiture of Senators, the Senate’s Chief Whip, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, and the Senate Minority Leader, Tanimu Aduda, as Patrons of the group.
