Chief Lady Evelyn Azih, the Ugoeze Ndigbo 1 of Holland, and the President of Nigerian Community in the Netherland fielded questions from RegentAfrica Times at the reception.

“Chief Uche Egenti is a very close friend of mine. I know him for a very long time, he is very humble and a great achiever. He is the Ibo leader, the recognise Eze Ndigbo of Abuja and now bags another recognition from the federal government as the Governing Board Chairman, of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI), by President Muhammadu Buhari.

“This is a thing of joy and that is why all his friends are here today to felicitate with him.” She enthused.

On the qualification for the position, she added: “This is a round peg in a round hole appointment given to Chief, we appreciate the President for the honour done on this noble son of the land

“Even if Chief Egenti is given more than the board chairmanship appointment, he truly deserves it.

“If given a minister of the federal republic, Egenti measures the mettle, both as a staunch supporter of this administration right from inception and one who has paid his dues as one of the key stakeholders in the properties and housing sector in Nigeria.

“You can see that one of the challenges we are facing in Nigeria is the infrastructural deficit, and having someone more dedicated to duty as Chief Egenti in the right place goes a long way to help solve some of the problems bedevilling this sector, and things will work out well.

“I think someone like Chief Egenti is in the right position to occupy this position.” Chief Lady Evelyn opined.

Advising HRH Egenti, Chief Evelyn seized the opportunity to appeal to the newly appointed Governing Board boss to be mindful of the fifth columnist while at the switchboard If he want to succeed:

“My advice for him is that he should beware of self-centred Nigerians who don’t want you to succeed, all they care around you is to bring out money for them to share and go back to destroy your work and image.

“So I will advise him that he should know that the position given to him is by God Almighty, and for him to make a positive impact in the lives of Nigerians in that aspect, he should just go and deliver.” HRH Evelyn admonished.

On his part, HRH, Serki Alhaji Yaro Danladi, the Chairman traditional rulers, Hausa Community in the South-East/South-South, says the appointment given to HRH Egenti did not come cheaply, he speaks:

“You can hear what everyone said about him, he is more than capable; he has been there and knows his onion on how to handle even a bigger office ahead.

“My words of advice to him is that he should just be himself and allow the humility for which he is known rules over him, not to allow himself to be distracted, but go out there and work for the government of Nigeria to the benefits of the citizenry.

“So he should continue the good works that earned him this honour.” Highness snapped.
